I love domestic interiors or genre scenes... they seem so normal and small scale. Not like those huge historical images of battlescapes and roman ruins, scenes that the 19th century artist could never have seen with his own eyes.

Plus I love the details genre scenes give us about clothing, furniture, parent-child relations etc

I call these story paintings and love to speculate. It seems to have been influenced by the PRB taste at least in its intense details, but just a great picture. Like a domestic Frith.
